it was this photo of picasso that started
me on my journey into the world of russian
cameras. he is shown here with a fed model 2a.
i initially thought it was a leica, but a bit of
research revealed it as a russian copy.

thanks (?) to ebay, i soon acquired a
collection that reflected the production
history of fed and the similar zorki cameras.
being around 50 years old, several of these
required a bit of work to return to a useable
state. fortunately, they are quite simple cameras,
so i've yet to fail in my restoration efforts.

the images below show some examples from
my collection. like the leica, these cameras
offer the ability to swap lenses, although
auxiliary viewfinders are needed to match
the focal length of the lens used.
